Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness

Last week three different people alerted me to an auction on ebay of an 1857 family bible. The seller had scanned in a couple of the pages that showed the original owner (Gideon Taylor) as well as some of the marriage and birth records (m. Sarah Burr). The three people did a search on google and and found that they were in my genealogy (actually my wife's side).

Fifty dollars later and the bible is back in the hands of the
family!. I've scanned the the genealogically interesting pages and offered them to anyone
who is interested.

  1. I know this is an old post and the post that I found on rootsweb is probably even older but when I saw the post below I became very excited. I am a direct descendent of Cornelius Board and this post matches up with information that I received from my grandfather. I am new to that site and count figure out how to access anything but that line and a link to a website that brought me here. If you wouldn't mind contacting me, I would be thrilled to discuss any possible mutual relatives and I'd be happy to share anything that I've found that you might need for you family tree. I hope to speak to you soon!
