The first year we put out political signs...

We've been in our home 11 years and our mailbox has been fine the whole time. This is first year we put out political signs and our mailbox is vandalized. Hmm.

Well, now in addition to a couple Kerry/Edwards, there are now signs for Pam Green and Deborah Pignatelli

  1. I've read about this kind of behavior before -- on both sides. You should see what some vandals did to the Bush sign on 101 in Bedford. We've thought about putting a sign out as well. Granted, it would be a Bush sign, but I'm taking pills for that. ;-)

I tend to think that as election day approaches and the rhetoric grows and both sides do their best to "energize their bases" while trying to grab the almost-holy "undecided vote", some people (admittedly a small portion) tend to forget that we all have to live with each other the following Wednesday.

The previous owner of our house installed a nearly indestructible mailbox. You'd need to ram it with a vehicle. But it doesn't mean that there aren't other things a bitter partisan couldn't do to our property.

On a different note, I like the fact that you modified things to do "clean" URLs for your archives. Most PHP/MySQL based systems don't tend to do that by default.
